About Riverstone
Riverstone Graves is an author and poet hailing from the rugged Ozark Mountains. Growing up roaming the hills and exploring the hollows, he inherited a rich tradition of storytelling and a deep connection to nature from his family. His folk lived in cabins nestled in the hills along the White River in Northwest Arkansas, where they made moonshine and played bluegrass music. Riverstone learned the art of storytelling from his grandparents, who regaled him with tales rich in lore of bygone years, times of danger and struggle, war and respite, and the enduring power of loyalty, family, and love. A deep connection to the spirit world permeates his heritage; his great-grandmother was one of the fabled "Granny Witches of the Ozarks," and others in his bloodline had reputations as seers, water witchers, and healers.
Riverstone holds a B.A. in English and Humanities, and a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Comparative Religion. His roots in folk spirituality, education as a religious scholar, and deep love of literature all inform and infuse his writing as a novelist, poet, and playwright.
Riverstone lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with his wife, Jen, and their four dogs. He enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, music and art festivals, and playing the Native American flute.
